Jon & I are rarely apart–maybe 8 to 10 hours per week.  And, every time we see a story in the news about couples that die in short succession, we talk about the phenomenon of dying of a “broken heart”.  We can only imagine that the same will be our fate many years from now. (continues below)

But, Swoon & Swallow is really just a sweet love song, with a sea shanty feel, about lovers dying one just after the other–based on the traditional sailor’s tattoo imagery of the swallow being a metaphor for safe passage.  Although it IS about death, it is a sweet song of devotion that anticipates being reunited as opposed to mourning loss.
