By Special Request.

you want to hear
WHAT?

We are privileged to play for the best audiences ever.  And over the years, we’ve gotten a lot of requests for cover songs.  Some of them eventually became popular parts of our set list –everything from Johnny Cash to Etta James.  We’ve seen them written on cocktail napkins, coasters, and even twenty dollar bills. (continues below)

Song requests for the Pea Pickin' Hearts!

But recently, we’ve had a few that enter our own personal Hall of Fame.   Above left, the song ever musician has had yelled at them from the back of the room–Freebird.  What made this request special was that it came on a paper hat from the infamous Dick’s Last Resort in Gatlinburg from a large group celebrating someone’s 28th birthday (or 40th–we’ll never tell).  We didn’t play “Freebird”, but we did play the modern-day-always-requested-from-the-back-of-the-room-song, “Wagon Wheel”, instead.

Thanks Southern Appalachian Brewery!Above right, a paper plate (that was formerly home to a Bretzel) at Southern Appalachian Brewery requesting Nancy Sinatra, Cher and Procol Harum.  The beautiful woman that requested these songs stayed for the whole show and was almost immediately rewarded with Boots, boots that were made for walking.

Our early April tour includes 10+ shows in 10 days and takes us from Black Mountain, NC up to Virginia and back down to Lexington, SC and back home to Tennessee again over the course of a dozen days.  And we’ve already had an advance request for Harper Valley PTA.  With that much notice, how do we say “No”?  Plus, we had a request for Ode to Billy Joe last night which is nearly the same song as Harper Valley PTA.  So learning either is like a 2 for 1, ha.  We’re on it.

But our all time favorite request is always,
“We’d love to hear another original.”
Thanks for that.  We love you too.
